New vs. Returning Customer

C3 can match up directly with your CRM file for accurate new vs. returning customer determination.

There are two steps to sync up C3 with your CRM.

1)  Pass an Account ID with each Conversion
At the moment of each conversion event, an Account_ID parameter needs to be dynamically passed to the C3 Metrics Conversion Tag.  The Account ID is an optional, unique identifier for this customer.  Whatever value is passed within the Account_ID parameter now represents the connection between C3 Metrics and your CRM and can be used to differentiate between new and returning users and also to connect online to offline events.  

2)  CRM Sync
Create a file of existing customers with the following fields:

  • Account_ID
  • Date of Last Purchase
  • Amount of Last Purchase
