What does it mean when my Total Conversions Don't Match to C3's Total 'Events'?

In C3 Metrics, the "Events" count is the total number of conversions.

Your conversion from Google Analytics, Omniture, Coremetrics, or other system of record for counting conversions should match C3 Metrics Event count very closely.
But if they don't, here is a checklist to check:
1. Testing Going On
Are you or your IT department performing regular or periodic conversion test orders from a testing service or a set number of IP addresses?  Sometimes the marketing department is not aware that their own IT department performs tests which are not real conversions.  If this is the case, please provide C3 Metrics with those IP addresses, and we will block any conversion from those IP addresses from entering the Event count in C3.
2. Time Zone of system of record
The default setting in Google Analytics is Pacific Standard Time.  It can only be changed upon setup, and once deployed, it's time zone can not be changed.  C3 sets your time zone the headquarters of your company which may be different than the setting in a system like Google Analytics.
3. Double the Conversions
If you are seeing twice the number of Event conversions in C3 as your system of record...your IT department or the person operating your tag manager has placed our C3 conversion tag on the conversion tag twice.  Please ask your IT department or tag manager technician to only place our conversion tag on a conversion page once.
4. Way Too Many C3 Events Versus System of Record
Is the C3 Conversion tag placed on site pages versus only the conversion page?  Typically this is the answer.  A conversion tag can only be placed on a conversion page.  Please have your IT department or tag manager technician only place a conversion tag on the desired conversion page, and place it there only once.
5. Seeing No Conversion Events At All in C3's Sytem
In this scenario, your IT department or tag manager technician has not yet placed our C3 conversion tag...or has placed it improperly, or they have mistakenly removed it.  Please have them place the conversion tag, or examine if they have placed it improperly, or mistakenly removed it.
6. Event Count From C3 Is Simply Confusing
Remember...that if you have set up C3 with multiple conversion events, the Event count sums all conversion events.  So if you want to look at Web Orders only, simply go to "Attribution Controls" and in "Transaction Type" pull-down, deselect the conversion types you do not want to see, and press the "Apply Attribution Settings" button.  Conversely, to bring back a transaction type that you "X'ed out", simply click the arrow pull-down, re-select the transaction type you want to add by clicking on it...then press the "Apply Attribution Settings" button.
